In Saturday's Suzuki 1 Men's League match, the Dziki faced an outsider in this year's competition - the reserves of the top league Start Lublin. The youth from Lublin have lost all their previous matches by a large margin. Yesterday was no different. The Dziki, famous for their tough defense, forced the Lublin team to make losses and throw from unprepared positions, which resulted in a lead of 21 to 14 at the end of the first quarter. In the second and third quarters, the pack consistently increased the advantage, which at its peak was 43 points.
In the last part, the hosts made up for some of the losses, but it had no major impact on the final result. The Wild Ones won the match by 32 points.
Coach Szablowski rested captain Grzegorz Grochowski (3 pts. 8 assists), thanks to which Maks Motel (13 pts. 6 assists) and Kuba Janik (7 pts.) got more minutes on the court. Franek Szular (born in 2005), a graduate of AK Komorów, also made his first league debut.
As many as six players from our team recorded double-digit points, with the most points scored by Antek Michalski (15 pts. 3 rebounds).
