The pre-season tournament held in Poznań last weekend turned out to be very lucky for our pack.
As planned, we played two matches with demanding opponents. On Friday, the Wildcats faced one of the main candidates in the fight for promotion to the top league - Górnik Trans.eu Zamek Książ Wałbrzych. The Pack played a very good match - they gained an advantage from the beginning, which they successfully defended until the end of the match. We played wisely and consistently in defense, allowing the opponents to score only 57 points. In the Wildcats, the winner of 19 points - Alan Czujkowski - stood out.
Thanks to the win, the Dziki's opponent in Saturday's match was the winner of the second semi-final - Warsaw's Polonia. However, this match had a different course than the match with Górnik. Polonia was the more effective team from the beginning. Our local rivals developed a several-point advantage, which they maintained until the beginning of the fourth quarter. Then the Dziki switched to a higher gear and pressed the Polonia players hard in defense. The result? The Dziki won the last part 27 to 6, winning the entire match by 16 points. The most points for the pack were scored by Przemek Kuźkow (24), hitting five times from long range.
These are of course just friendly matches, but what is most pleasing is the visible progress in our team's game.
Next week, another pre-season tournament with a very strong line-up. Dziki are coming from Starogard Gdański, where, in addition to the local SKS, teams from Kołobrzeg and Koszalin will also be playing.
