Krzysztof Szablowski will lead Dziki Warszawa in the upcoming 2022/23 season. The 46-year-old coach has signed a new, two-year contract with the club.
After a successful 2021/22 campaign, which ended with the club's historic advancement to the play-off phase, the Dziki Warszawa board decided to continue working with coach Szablowski.
"Szabla" has been the coach of Wataha since 2021. He is distinguished by over twenty years of experience, which he has gathered on both Polish and international basketball courts. Szablowski had the opportunity to work in teams such as Anwil Włocławek, Trefl Sopot and Stal Ostrów Wielkopolski. In addition, for many years he was an assistant coach of the Polish national basketball team, Mike Taylor.
Coach Szablowski announces that he will want to continue working on the project he started in Warsaw:
- Next season we will continue the work that brought results in the previous season. Our trademark will be a strong defense, which we will continue to develop. We will try to win quick, easy points and use our potential in attack to the maximum - commented the coach of Dzików Warszawa.
The Wild Boars played a total of 37 games under Szablowski's leadership. Last season, the team qualified for the play-offs, noting a balance of 17 wins and 15 losses. In the first round of the fight for promotion to the Energa Basket Liga, the Wild Boars lost 2-3 to Sokół Łańcut, the eventual winner of the competition.
